Officially established in early Summer '07, Alchema began writing their debut album "The Armour Adorned" and recording it in their own guerilla home studio. They soon discovered that the chemistry that each member had always dreamed of, was a reality. One year after three of the members moved to Washington from Texas with a previous band, the new lineup was complete. The elements that drive the alternative metal band, consist of Noah Robbins(Vox), Wyatt McClinton (Bass), Chris Yates (Drums) and Aaron Swafford (Guitars) whose roots range from Jazz to Metal to Bluegrass to Grind. The band is currently in the studio writing and prepping for a Fall release of the debut album entitled, "The Armour Adorned," which features artwork by Joe Hickman.

Alchema, pronounced "al kim uh" or "alk em uh", is a twist on the word "Alchemy" and can have several different definitions. The two most cosistent definitions include "transmuting a common substance, usually of little value, into a substance of great value" or "the combination of different elements interacting and forming one greater substance."

The name was greatly inspired by a concept called "The Law of Equivilent Exchange" which states that in order to GAIN something, one must GIVE something of equal value. In actuallity, even MORE than equal value must be given, as there must be a catylist to set the reaction into motion. As we set out on our path to reach our goals, we will make many sacrifices. All we can hope is that by giving the things that are most important to us, we will recieve something in return.

Within the short time the band has been together, several sound clips have been leaked onto the internet and have created a buzz through the rapidly growing fan base as well as A&R scouts. With the upcoming release of "The Armour Adorned" and a Fall tour, the band has a very promising future.
